Cathcart Associates was founded by a team of the country’s most successful recruiters, with a desire to show that good recruitment consultancy should provide a service which is simple, professional and effective.

Lindsey holds a degree in Law from University of Dundee. She now recruits software and web developers, mainly focusing on the Edinburgh and Dundee areas, as well as managing the growth and development of the whole permanent team. She understands what makes a good software engineer - and what makes a good job opportunity - across both Microsoft and open source technologies and skills. She is friendly and consultative with both clients and candidates and has established a reputation as an excellent recruiter from both sides.
Murray Simpson – Recruitment Wonderkid. Murray has been with us since he bounced out of Edinburgh Uni with a Masters in Business in one hand and a desire to make his mark in the other. His enthusiasm is as infectious as it is unremitting (except on Monday mornings) and over the years he has grown to be an exceptional recruiter. Murray looks after Executive and Senior positions for all our clients – contract and permanent. He is dedicated, knowledgeable, hard working and he has a really good grasp of his candidate community, which is really impressive considering he has one of the biggest patches in the business.
Rhona has an MSc in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh, which we're sure she uses to great effect in helping source the best software developers in Scotland for her clients. She concentrates exclusively on the Greater Glasgow area in order to get a total understanding the best candidates, and the most desirable employers.
Callum works in the permanent team, focusing exclusively on Infrastructure and Support specialists in Scotland. His reputation as a delightful young man is well founded, and he manages the huge workload that his market throws at him with aplomb. Outside of work Callum enjoys football and resembling a young Martin Sheen.
Liam is an experienced technology recruiter, who is heading up our North West England expansion. Recently returned to Cathy following a year long sabbatical in Australia, Liam will be very keen to grow the business at a rate of knots. He brings maturity, dedication and intelligence to what he does, and takes a great deal of care to make sure he knows enough about his clients and candidates to do his job perfectly.
Hamish is an Accountancy graduate, but let’s not hold that against him. An enthusiastic and friendly young man, he is responsible for permanent Business Intelligence, ERP and CRM recruitment across Scotland. It’s a complex and diverse market, but he knows all the top clients and all the best technical people across Scotland. Outside of the office he is a keen footballer and golfer and is Scotland’s proudest cricket fan.
Andy specialises in contract recruitment, with a focus on software developers. He has a strong sales pedigree and a really solid grasp of both understanding a client’s urgent requirements and how to find the right person to fit them. Were it not for a dodgy wrist, he would have made it as a professional golfer (seriously… he’s not making it up)... The Tour’s loss is our gain
Nick has an MSc in Media Management and an MA in English from the University of Glasgow. In 2015 he opened our first international office in Bangkok, Thailand and is now responsible for developing the business there; winning clients, identifying the best candidates and training the team. A busy man!
Chaiwat has an MSc in Risks and Finance from University of Southampton and BEng in Mechanical Engineering from University of Nottingham and Thammasat University. He focuses exclusively on finding network and infrastructure professionals new opportunities in Thailand. He is friendly and consultative, who enjoys engaging with both clients and candidates.
Benjaporn has an MA in Marketing from London Metropolitan University and a BA in Business English from Assumption Business Administration College. She focuses exclusively on finding talented software developers their next new exciting role. She gained over six years’ experience in Business Development in the Oil and Gas industry before making the move into recruitment. Her experience in building and maintaining client relationships together with a multinational consultancy background puts her in a great position to help build the business in Bangkok.
Prairie received her law degree from Thammasat Unversity in Thailand. She then went on to do her Masters in International Business Transaction and Comparative Laws at The University of San Francisco School of Laws. She has practiced in several leading law offices in Bangkok and one of the largest Petro-Chemical companies in the region. She has been instrumental in helping us opening Thailand - to the extent that without her, we'd still just be filling in forms! In her spare time she likes to play polo and eat good food!
Sittikarn (Yoon) graduated from University of Westminster in London with an MA in HR, to go with his BSc in Psychology – giving him an ideal insight into what makes the right person for an organisation. He specialises in finding organisations in Bangkok Mobile and Web developers, and has rapidly established himself as a really impressive recruiter.
Jidapa has a BEng in Electrical Engineering from King Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. She focuses on finding excellent .Net developers. She started her career as a Sale Engineer working in Energy Management where she met many clients and discovered that she enjoyed communicating with people. Her experience helps her to find the right people for the right positions.
Pharawi graduated with an MSc International HR from London South Bank University and BSc in Economics from Chulalongkorn University. He specialises in finding ERP professionals new opportunities across all industries. He is a professional and happy person, who looks forward everyday to engaging with both clients and candidates.
Sam set up the Cathcart Associates in 2009, and along with Gordon has grown it from a small attic room with just the two of them to a global business employing over 25 people across two continents. He is immensely proud of the team, and the company’s reputation as professional recruiter who does things properly.
Gordon has 19 years IT recruitment experience in Scotland, Cathcart Associates being only his second employer in that time. Starting his career with a degree in Information Management, he has permanent, contract and business development experience and a very customer-focused recruitment style. It’s helped him build countless successful relationships with countless organisations over the years.
Caroline is the Financial Controller - read "The Boss" - without whom the company would fall apart! No one knows more about how the whole company hangs together, how and how much people get paid and where the light bulbs are kept. She’s truly indispensable.
Bevin has a BA (Hons) in Fashion Business from Glasgow Caledonian University. She joined us following two successful years in London after graduating. Bevin is the Office Manager - managing back office and our social media, marketing and internal recruitment as well as acting as our Client and Contractor Liaison.
Catriona manages the huge volume of administrative work that the contract business generates (so if you need an advance, it’s Toddsy you have to be nice to!), controls our social media presence, organises company events and everything else you would expect from the PoF (Princess of Fun!)
